Skyglow and faith

There are some nights when for whatever reason we can't see the stars from where we are, but that doesn't make us doubt whether or...

Colours

Watch firecrackers without asking why
The stars don't take the colours to use in the sky
Red ones and yellow and blue and hot white
Blaze from a distance painting a picture tonight

The things that burn also give you fire
They keep you pushing on but do not prove yourself a liar
Please I can't take it when you try to fake it
You're running out of time
We're running out of time

Just say what's on your mind
I promise to take it fine
Just say it cuz you mean it and the lines will come out fine
But when you're tripping on words and I have to hear from a bird
What you really meant when you tried making up sense

Watch firecrackers without asking why
The stars don't take the colours to use in the sky
Red ones and yellow and blue and hot white
Blaze from a distance painting a picture tonight

We'll make our own myths connecting dots in the night
Sketch the story as you see it and the lines will come out fine
Some days you see red but I know you're true blue
Even when you're not yourself know that I still see you

Just say it as you mean it and I'll try to understand
Read between the lines with an intuitive hand
That builds a little picture and carves out this smile
That could light up our years for all of our while

There's a little blue light I can see it in your eyes
Blue seeps through the cracks in your voice when they're dry

Watch firecrackers without asking why
The stars don't take the colours to use in the sky
Red ones and yellow and blue and hot white
Blaze from a distance on this watercolour night

There were once children

It's so funny to look around and think that everyone on the bus was once a carefree child dancing around.

To understand eachother, I think it's important for youths to remember that older people were once their age too, and for older people to remember that youths have never been their age before.

One of the best was when my sister was a toddler and I was sneaking through the bedroom to get something and accidentally stepped on a hanger and she woke up, yawned, and said "I don't like elephant poop."

Belong

I don't want to fit in, but I do want to belong.

Pose

You'll be here a while so please do mind your pose
While a thousand paper cuts will keep you on our toes
Please don't mind it's just a silhouette strung up for all to see

We're in the media social sites and on TV
All these boxes leave me Feeling quite 2D

Join hands with me
We're in the media strung up for all to see
Please don't mind it's just a silhouette strung up for all to see
All these boxes leave me Feeling quite 2D

(Bridge) Please know they mean well as do you and I
If only we were perfect strangers seeing this eye to eye
So let's join hands as we're strung up

We'll be here a while so feel free to strike a pose

Lessons from a friend who is a parent:

ask a child "why", and "how do you know"
eg:
Child: "Koalas live in Australia"
Parent : "How do you know?"
Child: "Because everyone knows! They also live in zoos here."
Parent: "Unfortunately."

Asking math questions using fact families
(if wrong)
Parent: What did I say about guessing?
Child: No guessing.

I used to feel like a child who acted like an adult. I don't feel like a child anymore. Now I feel like an adult who is child a heart.

Two-Thousand-Seventeen

It's so strange. As of this year the remaining children from the 1900s will no loger be children.

Sometimes people do not write what they feel, but write to feel a certain way. They try to fake it, but it may not do justice to their true thoughts when something more concise might be more authentic, then possibly leave the door open to expand on it another time.

Something I like about diving is that I either come back better or don't come back at all.

And that very evening the Water Boy and the Girl in the Wind were finally married, alongside the cove where the wind danced with the waves and the sky stretched on forever.

The Best

All your pretentious one-liners
Kind of set me on fire
You quote yourself but you're a mess
Why do you have to be the best

The Scientist

This is a sad story about a young man who almost fell in love with a little girl with an old soul who was almost ready.
He asked her to play him a particular love song. She said she had just happened to start learning it, but it was a very difficult song and it wasn't ready for an audience just yet. He thought she was just shy.
The young man was impatient and he knew it, but knowing was not enough and he searched for love elsewhere. Meanwhile, the young girl set out to master the song he requested.
Eventually the young girl learned the song just barely enough and tried to play it for him, but he pushed her away as he found someone else.
He married an old girl with a young mind, and without a word left the young girl with a broken heart. All the while the young girl's soul grew ever older and she learned to play ever more beautifully.
Little by little, her she became more confident passers and by heard and enjoyed the her music. Someone asked her to play the love song and at first she hesitated. The young man would never heard her play that song, but she finally decided to play it for others to enjoy.
And that is where the sad story ends. Perhaps.
In time the young girl with an old soul became a young woman and she decided she would play music for the world to enjoy, and little by little, her heart also healed.
One day while the young played the now-mastered love song and it was heard by a man with an old soul.....
