Something I've never heard anybody talk about directly but must be a common experience is how when someone hurts you or someone you love, the city they are from can carry this cursed weight. 

It feels corrupted, it feels sad.

You can't help but think of the stories that person might have had there in their day to day life. No matter how far the city is it makes the pain feel less distant.
