Melody: An Inventory of Being
I am Melody.
I am fourteen years old.
I am a girl and an animal rights advocate.
I am a wolf waiting to howl.
If I stand very tall I am four feet eleven inches.
I have honey brown eyes,
And a long, curly, blackish brown twisted braid.
That gives me a hard time.
When I am relaxed, I let it out in a ponytail.
Curly.
But sometimes, when I seem to see the world in black and white and feel calm, I wear it straight down.
Like a willow tree.
I am a spy, a simple breeze, and a leader.
Never quite popular, but somehow unique.
I love summer holidays and I hate heat waves.
I like small, carpeted rooms with open windows and a desk.
And the wind... it helps me think.
I love the first spring sprouts, summer energy, and fall breeze.
And I don’t like geometry (but I won’t tell anyone)
And I will continue on in Writing,
Because I like it.
I love cooking, but I hate meat.
I love nature, books and horses.
And I want a horse.
And to get baptized.
To be needed.
But not quite yet.
I want a barn with animals and a backyard with a garden.
And I will get them.
(When I am stronger)
And mature.
I got to worship and am not in with “the crowd.”
(Only from the distance)
I’d like to be accepted
But I like cleaning up litter
And hate vampires and makeup.
Running is fun.
Sometimes, people scare me, no ethnicity,
Yet human tendencies.
I love the stillness of the water, but I would never miss a storm.
I often wonder why or how, but even now I know the answer
Will only come with time.
My name is Melody and this is 2010.
