Too much and not enough

How is it that people habitually make other people feel that they are simultaneously too much, and not enough?

Well, if that is you then there is something you should know: People say the same of the sun.

People say the sun is too much, others say there is not enough, yet with all it's "too much" and "not enough" it is a perfect distance from the only planet we know of that is able to support life.

No matter how people complain about it, it is just right.
