Goodbye portraits.
It is taking one last turn around the room,
Appreciating every detail in full one last time,
Before I say goodbye.
And to put on paper for the world to see how much I once cared. So that even when that attention to every detail of you leaves my mind someday, it still exists somewhere out there.
You might find it doesn't quite look like you. Or that some elements are too abstract.
But it is also my hope that someday long after I've gone from your life, maybe you can see that picture of you, and finally understand the way I saw you. Just as it was.
