Wow this is a good, big question.
Honestly, it feels too big to sum up but here are a few points I’ve found helpful:
- Be assertive without the compulsion to explain yourself. Not everything requires an in-depth explanation, and you don’t owe everyone an explanation.
- ENFP shadow type is your friend. And I don’t mean find ENFP friends (though that isn’t a bad idea), I mean don’t be afraid to be ENFPish or whatever. Don’t feel that you are any less authentic when in a less expected ‘mode’ of existence; it’s quite the opposite. INFJs are known for being difficult to pigeonhole, and you probably already know it’s not worth it to define any person with four letters anyway.
- Keep a collection of ephemeral thoughts, experiences, lessons, feelings, ideas, etc. Doesn’t have to be detailed, just enough to capture the sense of it. (And include happy ones)
- Allow happiness to cohabit with sadness.
- Be forgiving, including with yourself. Irrational or undue guilt is not helpful to anybody.
- Keep empathizing with others, but feel your own feelings too.
- Allow yourself to be validated, not victimized. This will also help with assertiveness. Feelings may be layered and mixed and not make sense on their own, but if you keep honest with them they do make sense. (Try explaining it to a mature INTJ and they’ll probably at least on a logical level get what you mean!)
- Don’t overdo humility, otherwise no matter how sincere it can come across as insincere which only adds more anxiety. Humour can be a fun way to help lighten things up :)
- Continue being positive, including towards others. Different views of idealism are sometimes seen as a bad thing, but those are usually the extreme kind. INFJs tend to think in principles, so use that to your advantage.
- Go with you gut, it is like the middle friend who your head, heart, and conscience all whisper secrets too. Indecision can be overwhelming. Try not to overthink things. (edit: help I keep going back to make tiny adjustments to this answer)
Might add more later, but this is a good question and I hope these are helpful
