When I’m sick or sleep in, my dog and cat come to my room and check up on me. My dog is always the first person to come to see if I’m ok; I hear her nails tapping along the floor as she trots through the hallway up to my door, then she stops in front. She just stays and listens to see if I’minsids, and if I stir or make any noise at all she barks for me to open up the door. Then she comes in, walks around my room, and jumps up at my bed to tell me good morning and have a pet. If her favourite seat isn’t full of clothes I didn’t put away she might stay there for a bit longer too.

Half an hour later the cat will probably come. She may meow at the door, but most likely just wander in because I left the door open I’m case Luna (my dog) wants to come back. Scratchig, biting, and knocking over glasses of water are typical of Virtute (our cat), but it’s like she can tell when I’m really sad and is much more gentle with me. If I’m that sad chances are I’m lying in fetal position, and she’ll come up in my bed and nestle herself between the bends in my legs.

They’re the sweetest.
