Feb 13-14, 2026 - timed publishing for a few months away, in case I finish and forget to publish. (But also far enough that it should be done by then!)
Also this is a secret of mine right now*, but I am trying to learn how and plan and collect materials to make a chess board/chess boards for someone/some people I love.
For this goal, I must learn how to:
1) use polymer clay to make things (I want to combine my love of art, love of gifting, and need to use my hands more and look at screens less. I really hope this investment works out.)
2) make chess pieces and board, specifically. I am in the mental designing stage very next step being sketching stage of making a chess set with polymer clay as a gift. It's what I'm gonna use to make the board, and how that is currently difficult..m particularly without spending another $50. I want the whole thing slightly but not completely wabi Sabi; I don't have to try for wabi Sabi because it will just happen as I mold the pieces, and I am feeling quite particular about the board being overall clean-cut. And of course. I am particular about the colours; I am very inspired and will largely follow the example of YouTube creator PearFleur who made this video to teach the rest of us.

I was torn on whether to use color or only neutrals, and paint or no paint... I adore the pastel paint here and tone-on-tone she uses 🤍 I also *love* the cozy, artsy style of her videos. I will send the video to my dad once I have achieved my goal, he loves this style, too. (I also have a lot of significant things in common with my mom, but for our natural artistic and thinking styles, dad and I have lots in common :)
*Footnote: I am keeping because I do find I am more comfortable and less stressed and therefore more likely to complete doing certain things when I don't tell anyone...
