...How she entered a room full of 13 men, the circle considered the most spiritual Christian men at that time. She gave her best, she came to give give something good to Jesus from her heart. And as she was the only woman in that room, 12 of those men jumped up to put her down. And that was instigated by Judas, but all the men in the room jumped on that bandwagon except one... And that one man was the Son of God.
What those other 12 men there, Christian or not, said, didn't matter in comparison.
Jesus defended her and said that what she will be written for all Christians to read for generations.
And why did those men jump? Well, the first one was Judas, a wolf in sheep's clothing and a greedy thief. But they all went alone with it.
You know what there is no record of? Any similar reaction from any of them when Matthew threw a huge feast for Jesus and the tax collectors.
Could it have been because of the way they were taught to view women, and it was that imperfection of even overall faithful men showing?
What I do know, is Mary went into a room full of men, in a spiritual environment, and all but one ganged up on her when she was trying to do something good. But what all of them said doesn't matter, because the only one who didn't, and rather even defended her, was the Son of God.
I have wrestled with a lot more personal anger regarding everyday mistreatment of women in the past while.
But after meditating on this, and comparing it with what the faithful and discreet slave is putting out now, I came to see they are doing it for all sisters today.
And further than that, it's not only Jehovah's organization doing this, it is Jesus himself doing it *again*, installed as King of God's Kingdom in heaven.
So while of course we would like things to be fixed and different now, should I face more of these kinds of problems even from brothers, or when I fear it, remembering this calms and comforts me.
Because even if brother in the world could be off the mark, that neither means I was wrong in my faith, nor that they are right.
Because as long as I humbly do my best to live a life that pleases Jehovah and follows Jesus' example, that will not go unnoticed and I will not go unloved by the One it is truly for.
